Industries Served

McJunkin Red Man serves a wide variety of industries including:

Chemical & PetrochemicalThe chemical and petrochemical industry is a vast and complex industry producing products that are both safe and toxic to use.  Plants that produce these products are comprised of complex piping systems controlled by manual and automated valves.  In many cases the media is toxic requiring products specifically designed for corrosive conditions.

Food ProcessingCompanies in the food processing industry take raw agricultural products (such as grains) and turn them into the food products that we eat and drink everyday.  There is a significant need in this industry for stainless steel products, especially food and brewery quality products.

pic3Gas Distribution & Gas Transmission This industry classification is comprised of establishments engaged in both the transmission and distribution of natural gas.  From the years 2000 to 2015, natural gas consumption in the United States is expected to increase 25 to 30 percent.  In 2003 there were over 1,200 local distributing companies (LDCs) in the United States, with control of over 833,000 miles of pipeline.

Oil & Gas Exploration and ProductionCompanies that engage in or support upstream oil and gas activities, such as the exploration, development, and production of crude petroleum and/or natural gas. The steps that lead to the production of oil and gas are diverse, complex and costly.  The areas for exploration and production are spread throughout the world.

PharmaceuticalUnder finished pharmaceutical formulations drugs are manufactured under strict quality control for ensuring a completely safe product. The finished formulations are available in the form of tablets, capsules, injections.  Because of it’s nature, this industry uses a large amount of stainless steel products such as pipe, valves and fitting to ensure a sterile environment.

Pulp & Paper Pulp and paper mills are often large and complex facilities that may produce several pulp and paper qualities from both softwood and hardwood feedstocks. The end products range from the tissues and papers we use on a daily basis to the wood products we use to build our homes.

Refining Petroleum refineries are marvels of modern engineering. A maze of pipes, distillation columns, and chemical reactors turn crude oil into valuable products. The United States has nearly 150 refineries that can process anywhere between 5,000 and 500,000 barrels of oil per day. These refineries turn crude oil into the gasoline and chemical feedstocks that keep the country running.

Steel ManufacturersSteel manufacturing has been and continues to be an important industry for North America. With global demand for steel products booming our steel manufacturing clients continue to invest in their infrastructure often times buying products that they also make.

UtilitiesThe electric industry in the United States has grown to provide a very reliable source of energy for the consumers.  Typical forms of energy production include fossil generation, hydro generation and nuclear generation.
